Cleaning the Fridge

This week, I tackled my neglected refrigerator and gave it a deep clean.

I haven’t fully emptied the fridge and cleaned all the shelves and drawers since we moved in about a year and a half, so it was long overdue!

First step: remove everything!

Second step: assess!

The fridge door and all the shelves were very dirty. I decided to pull them all out so I could clean the brackets too.

Third step: wipe everything down. I cleaned the sides, back, and surfaces inside the fridge and washed the shelves and drawers in the sink.

Fourth step: purge anything outdated or spoiled. Since I am pretty committed to using up leftovers – even condiments – I didn’t have much to purge. I just dumped a few nearly empty condiments and jars. I left out a few containers of leftovers for lunch too to ensure older food items got used up.

Fifth step: put it all back!

It was so nice to return all the items to a clean refrigerator.

I know it won’t last long with all the people in our house, but this definitely helped!
