Sarah and I have known each other for a long time. We haven’t always been friends but having kids seems to bring people together.
I’m so thankful for Sarah. I have lots of dreams that I talk about flippantly because putting them in to motion takes work. Anything I mention around Sarah gets scheduled into a calendar and she makes it happen. I’m talking about anything from “hey let’s make sushi one day,” to “I’d love to try paddle boarding,” or “one day we should start a blog,” or “I really should organize my basement better.” Any talks of hiking or field trips with the kids, or alone beach days (even though she burns so easily), or trying new restaurants, or cleaning up the yard. She is up for anything and will make it happen.
Several years ago we started running together. I’m not sure how it started but we were running every chance we got. Over a few months we ran 100 miles and I thought that was epic. Earlier this year Sarah forced/convinced me to run a 10K.

It was hard and I swore I wouldn’t run anymore. But it’s been 4 months and I’m still running.
It’s really a wonderful way to start the day.
We just finished a half marathon relay in Rhode Island that we somehow convinced both our husbands to run with us. Now my husband has a running high and I’m afraid I’ll never be able to stop running. There are already rumors of another 10K and more relays.

It’s a wonderful thing to have a friend that pushes you to uncomfortable levels (in a good way) and can help you finish a chocolate peanut butter cake.
I credit Sarah with our annual Thanksgiving fun run race and the many sunrise hikes we have finished over the last few years.

She is also quite literally the reason I get out of bed in the morning. Most mornings she is waiting in my driveway for me to open the door so we can do some kind of ridiculously hard workout video or yoga.

If you don’t have a friend like this, you need to find one.
