What happened to no-spend September?

This week, I have a confession.

Remember when I was all enthusiastic about starting no-spend September this year?

Mm, well, life happened.

I definitely didn’t no-spend.

I spent less.

But not nothing.

And I barely tackled my pantry and freezer inventories.

I’d like to say life just happened.

Which it sort of did. But also, I just didn’t try hard enough.

I succumbed to cravings for takeout food and spent too much time looking at food blogs and YouTube meal prep videos, which made me want to cook different dishes that I didn’t necessarily have all the groceries for.

I will say this: I really only blew the no-spend plan when it came to groceries/food. I didn’t go crazy buying anything else. So I guess it wasn’t a total flop.

Now it’s mid-October and I’m thinking about the holiday season and how utterly unprepared I am for the increased grocery expenses and gift-giving occasions that lay before me.

EEK.

I’d love to hear from you if you have any tips for scrambling at the last minute to prepare for the holiday season. I know it’s wise to budget all year for Christmas shopping or the other major holidays you might celebrate.

But since we’re past that opportunity, and now I’m stuck…Help? Love to hear from you. Drop a comment below.
