This week, I wanted to share some summertime lunch ideas.
My boys are attending a local summer camp three days a week this year just as they did last year. I’ve gotten into the habit of prepping their camp lunches and snacks the weekend before the camp week begins to ease the chaos.
I am particularly excited this year about the new Melli Snackle boxes I picked up at Marshall’s. The containers come with three sections and an additional 3 dividers. You can use the dividers to customize the containers to accommodate a variety of food options. Choose either 12 small squares or 6 larger rectangles – or another combination to meet your needs. They’re very cool!
I do wish that the horizontal dividers were removable as well to allow for a section large enough for a sandwich, but the permanent nature of the three sections does mean you avoid any leakage. Juices can seep beneath the removable dividers so I am careful to put complementary items side by side (ex. two veggies or two fruits rather than tuna and blueberries).
For this week’s camp menu, I included the following for days one and two:
- Blueberries and strawberries
- Red grapes
- Snap peas
- Baby carrots
- Pepperoni and string cheese
- Crackers
For day three, I opted for my two-divider Rubbermaid containers and packed:
- Tuna
- Baby carrots
- Snap peas
- A granola bar
- Teddy graham crackers and peanuts
- And an apple and seaweed snacks on the side

I also prepare breakfast in advance whenever possible, so this week I made a large batch of French toast and oat pancakes for a quick and easy breakfast to enjoy alongside fruit.
Other weeks we will opt for bagels, muffins, oat bars, or avocado or peanut butter toast.
