Spring Hikes

This week, the weather in Connecticut is finally warming up and it is starting to feel like spring. We have had several beautiful weather days, and I’ve been trying to make it a priority to get outside for fresh air and a walk each day.

But, I have been defaulting to the same few walks. I wanted to switch it up this week, so I found a new trail in a state forest not too far from our house. We have never hiked there before and I was excited about the change of pace.

The trail was well maintained and clearly marked. It followed a river and had some wonderful views. We didn’t have time for the full 6-mile loop and opted for the shorter 3-mile hike. It was a straight walk in that ended at a waterfall and we hiked back out on the same path.

The waterfall was beautiful! At the bottom of the waterfall was a hammock with a cute sign that said, “Relax for a minute and enjoy the view.”

If you remember, I posted previously about about how my family is trying to hike through all the Connecticut state parks. Now that winter is officially over and the trails are drying out, I’m hoping to check many of them off our list.

Happy spring, and happy hiking!
